News on UTA History Department Retirees

Dennis Reinhartz, UTA Professor Emeritus, has been appointed "Scholar in residence" at the Australian National Library (April-May 2024), based in Sydney. As scholar in residence, he will also be lecturing in Canberra, Melbourne, and possibly elsewhere, a total of eight or more presentations on the history of cartography, historical geography (with Judy, his wife), and the maps of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition, he will deliver the keynote address at the annual Australian New Zealand Map Association Meeting.

Richard Francaviglia, UTA Professor Emeritus has just published another book titled Cinematic Journeys in Latin America: Geography Through the Lens of Exploration and Discovery Films (McFarland & Company, Inc., Publishers, 2023).
