Artesha Richardson

Artesha Richardson is from the British Caribbean Island of Anguilla. She earned her MSW from UTA with a concentration in Direct Practice, specializing in Children and Families, and cross-training in Special Education. After obtaining her LMSW she developed the Crisis Support program to respond to mental health crisis for the Waxahachie Police Department where she was the Crisis Support Specialist Supervisor. Her social work practice experience is in law enforcement, mental health, child advocacy, and medicine. Artesha is a former collegiate athlete passionate about reducing the effects of childhood trauma caused by sexual abuse in her country. Her research interests include childhood welfare, childhood abuse, sexual assault, mental health, and policy.
