Donald K. (Don) McConnell, Jr. is a Ph.D., CPA, and CFE with over three years of public accounting experience as an auditor in the Dallas office of KPMG, where he attained the position of supervising senior. He has published in Journal of Accountancy, CPA Journal, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, The Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance, Internal Auditor, and Journal of Business Research, in addition to other journals. He received editors' commendations for articles in both the January 2003 and September 2003 issues of Journal of Accountancy. He is also the author of Public Company Auditor Changes and Big Eight Firms: Disagreements and Other Issues, a book published by the University of Michigan Press.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and was recipient of the prestigious Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Distinguished Achievement Award in 2002. Don is an accounting professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he has received on multiple occasions the UT Arlington College of Business Administration Distinguished Professional Publication Award and Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award. In spring 2006, he was chosen to receive the UT Arlington Academy of Distinguished Teachers Award. The University of Texas at Arlington recognized him as being the Outstanding Student Organization Advisor in 1999.
