Elizabeth Morrow joined the faculty at The University of Texas at Arlington in 1991, and was recently promoted to Full Professor in the Department of Music. She was awarded the degree Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California under Eleonore Schoenfeld. She attended Indiana University, received an "artist's diploma" from the Conservatory of Music in Freiburg, Germany and a Master of Arts degree in Cello Performance from California State University Fresno.

Professor Morrow's repertoire extends beyond traditional classical periods and styles to incorporate jazz and 20th Century compositions, and she has a special interest in and commitment to performing newly-commissioned and lesser-known works in the cello repertoire. In support of that mission, Dr. Morrow released her solo compact disc, Soliloquy: Contemporary Works for Unaccompanied Cello, with Centaur Records in 1999.

As a recitalist and chamber musician, she has concertized extensively in Europe and North America. In fall 1999, Dr. Morrow released her first solo compact disc, Soliloquy: Contemporary Works for Unaccompanied Cello, with Centaur Records. In summer 2000 she was featured performing a selection from Soliloquy at the World Cello Congress III in Towson, Maryland. Dr. Morrow has enjoyed residencies in Mannheim, Germany and Seoul, Korea teaching numerous talented young students and performing. She has been a member of the jury for the Antonio Janigro International Junior Cello Competition in Porec, Croatia and the Rudolf Matz International Competition in Dubrovnik. Croatia. Dr. Morrow has presented her pedagogical approaches at the American String Teachers Association conferences, and the organizational journal AST has published several articles, including "Battling the Bridge," 2005 and "A Question of Balance," 2006. Elizabeth Morrow is a dedicated pedagogue and is founder/director of the Texas Cello Academy, an annual summer course and festival held at the University of Texas at Arlington.
