Dr. Kamangar is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from University of Tehran, Iran in 1975 and the M.S. and Ph.D. Degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1977 and 1980, respectively. He joined the faculty of Computer Science and Engineering Department at UT Arlington as an Associate Professor in 1983. He was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2005. His research areas include digital signal processing, image processing, computer vision, neural networks, and computer graphics.
