Dr. Peggy E. Swanson is Professor of Finance with teaching and research interests in the area of international finance. She joined the faculty at The University of Texas at Arlington in 1978 after completing graduate school. Her degrees include a bachelor's and a master's degree from The University of North Texas and a master's and a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University. She progressed through the ranks of Assistant and Associate Professor to Full Professor and has chaired the Department of Finance and Real Estate twice during her tenure at UT Arlington as well as being actively involved in numerous university, college and departmental activities.
She is currently the field coordinator for the Finance track of the Ph.D. in Business Administration. She has served as reviewer for more than 25 academic journals and currently serves as Associate Editor of The International Journal of Finance and is on the editorial board of Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives.
Most of her research has been in the fields of international money markets, foreign exchange markets, international equity markets, and international bond markets. Her publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics, Quarterly Review of Economics and Business, Review of Business and Economic Research, The Financial Review, Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of International Finance, and International Review of Financial Analysis.
