In order to receive an application fee waiver, you must establish financial need through one of the documents listed below.
An approved SAT or ACT test college application fee waiver form
To be eligible to use the SAT application fee waiver, you must:
A letter from your high school counselor on official high school letterhead describing the specific type of economic assistance received during high school as a basis for which a waiver should be granted (for example, participation in the school free lunch program)
A letter from UT Arlington's Financial Aid Office
This letter must state that you will receive a Pell Grant award for the academic year for which you are seeking admission. We will need verification from a financial aid counselor that you are or will be a Pell Grant recipient. Therefore, please do not send income tax returns or student aid reports. The Office of Admissions will not be able to process your eligibility for an application fee waiver based on income tax returns or student aid reports.
These documents must be originals. We are unable to accept photocopies or faxes. Please note that we are unable to waive application fees for international students seeking undergraduate admission.
You may be eligible for a free application update if you satisfy at least one of the following two criteria:
You paid the application fee when you last applied AND you are applying for a term that falls within 3 semesters of the term for which you last applied for enrollment. (Summer 1 and Summer II are considered separate terms.)
OR
You are continuing in the EAP program.
If you update your application at applytexas.org and you meet one of the free update conditions, check the fee waiver box when you get to the application fee payment page. This will enable you to avoid paying the application fee again and still have your application transmitted to UT Arlington.
Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 817-272-MAVS (6287) if you are unsure of your free update eligibility.
Applications received after the posted deadlines could be subject to processing delays. Please note the financial aid application deadlines may be earlier. For more information about applying for financial aid, visit the Financial Aid Web site.
