Information for First-Time Freshmen
support has a home.
We’ve always been student-focused. But in the fall of 2010, we gathered all of that focus under one roof. In Ransom Hall we opened University College, a full-service center for academic advising, tutoring, counseling, and anything else that involves dismantling obstacles, slicing through red tape, and clearing the way for academic success.
University College promotes student learning and development by providing coordinated and centralized academic resources and support services that help students define their educational goals and pursue a path toward graduation. In addition University College serves as a focal point for campus programming that helps first-year students successfully transition to college life and meet the academic challenges set by faculty. These services include advising, major exploration, the McNair Scholars program, personal and group counseling , and a slew of freshman-focused programs including Freshman Interest Groups, First-Year Seminars, Success U and much more.
