Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by the preferred application deadline date or as soon thereafter as possible. Application
processing requires time to evaluate credential, address THEA/TASP issues and review data. Submitting credentials significantly past the

Category I: International Freshman Students
For admission as an international freshman student, the following requirements must be met.
- Present completed official secondary school (high school) transcripts, diplomas, certificates, and/or national test examination
scores as appropriate for the educational system in your country. All applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school
graduation based upon a combined elementary and secondary pattern of twelve years with a better than average academic record.
- International student freshmen and freshmen transfer applicants (applicants who have completed less than 30 transferable semester
credits) must submit official, acceptable SAT I scores before an admission decision can be made. The minimum acceptable score for
international applicants educated outside the U.S. is 900 for all majors except Engineering. The minimum SAT I score for Pre-Engineering
majors is 1200. For more information see the

THEA (formerly TASP)
State law requires that all students at any Texas public college or university must provide THEA/TASP scores prior to their first
semester. Students who do not provide a THEA/TASP score as required will be barred from enrolling. Students should take the THEA/TASP as
early as possible during high school. Providing THEA/TASP scores is the student's responsibility. Students who submit THEA/TASP scores
below passing must enroll in an appropriate developmental program until a passing score is provided for all sections of the test.
(Contact the Office of Counseling and Career Development for THEA testing information, 817.272.2362.)
