New Student Welcome Center

At UT Arlington, you are a member of our community starting the moment you express interest in the university. The New Student Welcome Center serves as the gateway to our community for all prospective students at UT Arlington. At the New Student Welcome Center you can meet with an admissions counselor, take a campus tour, apply to the university, turn in important documents, and learn about how you can be a Maverick.

Admissions Counseling

An admissions counseling appointment helps make the admissions process go smoothly. Admissions counseling appointments cover a wide range of topics including why you should choose UT Arlington, how to apply, our admissions requirements, and the transfer process. Students who do not meet our freshman or transfer automatic admissions requirements can also meet with our admissions counselors to discuss their options for becoming a student at UT Arlington.

Please remember, that an admissions counselor can explain what courses will transfer to UT Arlington, but they cannot create a degree plan or advise students which courses they will need to take at UT Arlington to complete their degree. Degree plans are handled by academic advisors once you are admitted to the university.

Please call 817-272-8821 to make an appointment with an admissions counselor. Walk-in appointments are also welcome from 8:30 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm.

Applying to UT Arlington

Prospective students can fill out the online application for admission in our office using our computers. Our MavElite students will be there to answer questions about the application and the admissions process. Prospective students can also turn in documents to complete their application file. Remember to make sure that official documents are sealed.

Visiting Campus

One of the best ways to learn about UT Arlington is to experience it first hand. Our campus visit experience starts at the New Student Welcome Center. We offer several daily tours for individual visits or specially arranged group visits. Our MavElite students lead the campus tours and showcase the features and benefits of a UT Arlington education.
