Katrina Keyes '96 - 2007 Outstanding African-American Alumni Award
Katrina Keyes is an accomplished leader and champion of Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) and has over 15 years of experience in the areas of M/WBE programs, public affairs, and procurement. Katrina is the president of K Strategies Group LLC, a public affairs firm providing M/WBE programs, public information programs, and community affairs services. K Strategies specializes in the construction industry and has developed comprehensive M/WBE and public affairs programs on major development projects, including: the City of Arlington Dallas Cowboys Stadium and the City of Dallas Mercantile Block.
Katrina is a committed public servant and serves on the board of directors of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, Trinity River Authority, and the Black Contractors Association. She has received numerous honors for her business accomplishments, including: being ranked as the Dallas Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 in Dallas Business recognition, Advocate of the Year Award by the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Business Council, Outstanding Woman in Construction by the Fort Worth Business & Professional Women, and Regional Director’s Awards by the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency.
Katrina is a 1996 graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington, holding a bachelors degree in Business Administration. She also holds a Master of Education in Higher Education from Dallas Baptist University and she is currently pursing a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Dallas.
Katrina’s passion to strengthen minority businesses comes from her belief of entrepreneurship being one of the best tools to grow wealth and economic development in minority communities.
