The Anthropological Honor Society Alpha Chapter of Texas

Lambda Alpha is a dynamic national collegiate organization which nurtures and rewards undergraduate and graduate students’ excellence in anthropology.  A team of undergraduate and graduate students currently administer the Alpha chapter of Texas, chartered at UTA.

The focus of Lambda Alpha is academic and professional.  The members are dedicated to professional development in the field of anthropology.  National scholarships are available to Lambda Alpha members.

The winning of an annually awarded national scholarship provides $5000 to a deserving graduating senior major in anthropology. A Graduate Research Grant is designed to encourage overseas thesis research. The award is variable ranging from $2000 to $6000.

Since the editorial policy of the Lambda Alpha Journal provides for 50% of its space to be reserved for student publication, this offers a unique occasion for students to see their own work in print on a national level.

A newsletter is published every semester.
