The Seasonality Homepage was established at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2001 to provide a central resource for researchers and students in support of archaeological seasonality. This site features World Wide Web Links related to seasonality, a bibliography and other resources of potential value to the research community. Until recently, seasonality has been a neglected category of provenience. The emergence of cementum analysis, the microscopic analysis of tooth cementum, creates a new standard in archaeological reporting. The value of this site depends on your contributions and suggestions. If you host or know of a Web site relevant to archaeological seasonality, please let us know. Were also interested in learning of new publications and papers. Your suggestions for improving The Seasonality Homepage are also very much appreciated. See our Submissions Page for information on adding material, or contact us via email at seasonality@uta.edu. |
From Moby Dick by Herman Melville: In the central blinds of bone, as they stand in their natural order, there are certain curious marks, curves, hollows, and ridges, whereby some whalemen calculate the creature's age, as the age of an oak by its circular rings. Though the certainty of this criterion is far from demonstrable, yet it has the savor of analogical probability. |
