For Mac OS 10.0.x, 10.1.x, 10.2.x, and 10.3.x
- Within the Finder, click on "Go" in the menubar and select "Connect to Server...".
- In the server address field type in "uranus.uta.edu" without the quotation marks and click the connect button.
- Select the Connect as "Guest" option and click the "connect" button.
- Open the mounted uranus sharepoint located on the Desktop and find the "SW-Check" folder.
- Open the "Mac-OS-X-sw-check.command" file found within the "SW-Check" folder.
- This script will create a folder on your Desktop called "Application-list-folder" and create a file inside that folder called "Application-list.txt".
The script will then open that file.
- From this list you should be able to fill out a Software Log sheet for the computer
listing what software you found. A log sheet you can use can be found at log-sheet
A sample log is located at sample log
- Keep a copy of this list and update it anytime you add or remove software from the computer.
The list should be kept somewhere close to the machine where it can be easily accessed and updated.
