welcome to UT Arlington's school of architecture!

The University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Architecture places a very high priority on student advising and considers it an integral part of the university experience.

The goal of academic adviser is to assist you in forming an academic plan consistent with your educational and career goals.  You are encouraged to make the most of your education and are ultimately responsible for satisfying your degree requirements.

The Undergraduate Architecture & Interior Design Programs both consist of 8 design courses that must be taken sequentially and may only be taken one per semester [(Architecture) ARCH 1241, 1242, 2551, 2552, 3553, 3554, 4556, 4557]; [(Interior Design) ARCH 1241, 1242, 2551, 2552; INTD 3553, 3555, 4562, 4563]. So, the program will take a minimum of 8 semesters to complete for both new freshmen and transfer students. The course sequencing of both the design and lecture courses has been designed to help students successfully complete the program and the course sequencing is strictly enforced.

If a student does not successfully complete all of the courses in their current sequence and want to take particular courses from the next sequence for which they possess the prerequisites, they will have to wait until the students in that current sequence have all been placed before they can acquire clearance.

Students in the all portions of the undergraduate programs must contact the advisor for registration clearance every semester.
