Albert Marichal joined the UT Arlington Faculty of Architecture in Fall 2009. He teaches graduate level courses including: Environmental Controls, Performative Tectonics, Advanced Design Studio, Comprehensive Design Studio, and Design/Build Studio. Mr. Marichal formerly taught at Syracuse University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Boston Architectural Center. He has been an invited lecturer, symposium panelist, or guest critic at numerous universities including: Cornell University, Columbia University, New York Institute of Technology, Parsons, University of New Mexico, Montana State University, University of Texas at Austin, Harvard Career Discovery, and Le Centre d’Etude d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Saintes, France. 

In 1999, Mr. Marichal founded Albert Marichal Studio, a design firm specializing in architecture, landscape, and urban design. The primary interest of the firm lies in the intersection of tectonic form, the natural environment, and the human body. In the work, place-making and innovation are influenced by the regional environment and local culture. Works of the firm have been included in numerous publications and exhibitions including Architectural Record and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Albert Marichal Studio has been honored with Design Awards in Architecture from the American Institute of Architects. 

Mr. Marichal is a licensed architect, registered in New York and Texas.  He holds the NCARB Certificate and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Marichal earned Bachelor Degrees in Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Houston College of Architecture and Master Degrees in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University GSAPP and Harvard University GSD.
