In a May 13, 2001 article titled "Why swim across an ocean? It’s hard to explain", Dallas Morning News writer Jacquielynn Floyd profiled recent School of Architecture graduate Benoit Lecomte.  The article focused on Lecomte's plans to swim across the Pacific Ocean, as well as his historic swim across the Atlantic in 1998.

Lecomte was quoted as saying:

"I don't want to live with any regrets.  I don't want, down the line, to say, 'I had an opportunity, and I didn't take it.'"

Lecomte was also profiled back in February 2001 by UT Arlington Shorthorn reporter Keven Crouch, in a piece titled "UT Arlington graduate student to swim the Pacific Ocean for cancer research".  Lecomte graduated last week with his Master of Architecture.
