Student Bio
Jackson Echols is a 2nd year MFA candidate at UTA. Prior to graduate school, Jackson owned a digital printing business. Jackson’s background is in landscape photography; his current work features alternative photographic processes and pinhole cameras.
Artist Statement
My current series, Blacktop and Standing Smoke, is a personal exploration of navigation, both spatial and time-based, and its connection to navigating the unconscious mind and fallible memory. It began as a response to a traumatic event in 2011 and has evolved into an exploration of the reconstruction of memory.
