Graduate Student Profile
Neal Paustian graduated in 2002 from UTA with a BFA degree in Visual Communication, but discovered glass in his final three semesters and fell in love with the lucid media. He continued his study in glass sporadically over the next several years, working in private studios, notably creative studios in St. Augustine, Florida with glass artist Thomas Long, and Scanlan glass in Brooklyn, New York. He has taken classes at Jacksonville University in Florida and Urban Glass in New York City. His current explorations can best be described as attempts to draw awareness to social and political issues, specifically water conservation and the effects of hydraulic fracturing.
