Assistant Professor Dr. Amanda Alexander on the summer lecture circuit

Kimbell Art Museum Lecture on Peru

Dr. Alexander lectured at the Kimbell Art Museum for the Summer Institute for Teachers in conjunction with their summer exhibition: Wari: Lords of the Ancient Andes. The focus of the lecture was to provide, educators who viewed the summer exhibition, a sense of the cultural and artistic changes in Peru from past to present. This was intertwined with Dr. Alexander's research in Peru, different artistic traditions that continue in Peru today, and how individuals/groups work to preserve and promote Peruvian art practices. She also explored how these artworks and traditions connect with art education studies and the classroom.
