Soyla Santos’ work selected for 26th Tallahassee InternationalPosted on September 01, 2011
The 26th Tallahassee International (August 29 - October 2, 2011)
Soyla Santos’ video, incommodious, was selected for the annual, juried competition sponsored by Florida State University. This year 320 artists entered the Tallahassee International competition, giving the jurors over 600 works to review, and after much consideration they selected 37 artists for the exhibition and 54 works in all. The pieces chosen represent a wide spectrum of contemporary work and are artistically diverse and unique, encompassing all art forms from traditional to non-conventional.
Soyla Santos is an MFA candidate in Intermedia. The selected work, incommodious, involves a combination of audio, video and contour drawings that emphasize the inadequacy of intimate, domestic spaces.
