The Hand-Made Photograph

A work by UT Arlington Senior Lecturer in Photography Scott Hilton - "Syn. see LIE" was awarded the 2nd place prize by Juror Christopher James in this nationally-curated show of alternative process photography.  James is a widely-exhibited artist in this field, he quite literally "wrote the book" on it- "The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes"- one of the most lauded texts on the subject.  Hilton teaches UTA's Alternative Process Photography classes.  His work uses a combination of Civil War era hand-made photographic glass plates and contemporary digital printing technology. The exhibition ran from May-June 2012.
