Watermedia ExperimentsPosted on October 22, 2012
Watermedia Experiments is a group exhibition showing works from the current watermedia class. The work displays the artists’ initial interactions with watercolor. One of the most exciting, if unpredictable, qualities of watercolor is its ability to impart color while allowing underlying layers to remain visible to a greater or lesser degree. These paintings utilize variations of eight fundamental techniques which consists of: wet-into-wet, wet-into-dry, dry-into-wet, dry brush, calligraphic line work, flat wash, gradated wash, and glaze.
This exhibition has been juried by Elissa Stafford, artist and Director of Red Arrow Contemporary, and Richard Serrano, Executive Director and Founder of Art This Week.
Reception: Wednesday, 10/24, from 5-7pm
