Mark Baum Scholarship


The Mark Baum Scholarship in Art and Art History are made possible by the generous support of Mr. Mark Baum (B.A. in Political Science, 1995). These scholarships are intended to support students with a strong academic record and with a clear and compelling vision of how their educational experience has shaped their lives.

Wishful Wings: James S. Barnett Jr. Charitable Foundation Scholarship



In support of The University of Texas at Arlington’s fine arts community, the WISHFUL WINGS: James Samuel Barnett Jr. Charitable Foundation wishes to support and recognize visual artists enrolled at UTA through the Ideas in Art Awards annual visual art project competition. ‘Ideas in Art’ focuses on the creative process, rather than the finished piece. The intent of the WISHFUL WINGS: James S. Barnett Jr. Charitable Foundation is to support and motivate student artists, helping them recognize that the ideas they conceive are just as significant as the finished works.

Wishful Wings Photography Award: James S. Barnett Jr. Charitable Foundation Scholarship


The Wishful Wings: James S. Barnett, Jr. Charitable Foundation awards four students with $500 each Fall and Spring semester at UTA in recognition of outstanding work in photography. Students will submit portfolios to be juried by two professionals from outside UTA in each Fall and Spring semester of the academic year. The jurors evaluate student achievement based on a presentation of a cohesive body of work. An honoraria will be given to four current students to exhibit the work in a four person show at Gallery West and give a public presentation at the reception.

Fall Deadline: November 1, 2007

Spring Deadline: April 1, 2008

Arlington Arts League, Inc. Community Scholarship


Applicants must be enrolled at UT Arlington during the semester he/she auditions. Scholarships apply to the beginning of the following fall semester. Applicants are to describe their future plans and any special needs required to accomplish their goals. Students may submit any two-dimensional or three-dimensional work produced while a student at UTA. Applications will be available in the Art & Art History office.
