Liberal Arts Requirements - 55 Hours
All majors are required to fulfill liberal art foundations.

| English Composition | 6 hours- ENGL 1301 & 1302 | ||
| Literature | 3 hours (2000 level or higher)- English Literature or Foreign Language Literature | ||
| Liberal Arts Elective | 3 hours (2000 level or higher) from the College of Liberal Arts: ADVT, ANTH, ART, BCMN, CLAS, COMM, CRCJ, DNCE, ENGL, FREN, GEOG, GERM, GREK, HIST, HUMA, JOUR, LATN, LING, MAS, MUSI, PHIL, POLS, PORT, PREL, RUSS, SOCI, SPAN, SPCH, THEA, or WOMS | ||
| Foreign Language | 8 hours- Foreign Language 1441 & 1442 (lecture + lab courses) (both courses in the same language) | ||
| History | 6 hours- HIST 1311 7 1312 OR HIST 3363 & 3364 | ||
| Political Science | 6 hours- POLS 2311 & 2312 | ||
| Mathematics | 6 hours- Two courses which must be college-level Algebra (MATH 1302) or higher | ||

| Fine Arts | 3 hours- Satisfied by your student status as a Studio Art or Art History major. Art & Art History majors are not required to fill these three credit hours. | ||
| Liberal Arts credit hours required for graduation | The Liberal Arts Requirements listed above generally require additional elective credit hours in order to fulfill the minimum 128 hours credit for graduation. | ||
| Elective Hours | Elective hours may include transfer credit hours and/or credit hours taken at UTA. While not all courework transferred to UTA will necessarily fit into the BFA & BA degree plans in Art & Art History, academic advisors work to assure that optimum use of credit hours is integral to your final degree plan. |
