Three seniors on UT Arlington's softball team end their collegiate playing careers with one last honor, as pitcher Laura Jones, outfielder Katie Jones and shortstop Amanda Swofford earned Capital One Academic All-Southland Conference Softball Honors, league offices announced Wednesday.

Walls won the 100 meters and 200 meters on Sunday and competed in two relays at the Southland Conference Track and Field Championships, earning 22.75 points as she became the first female Maverick athlete to be the high-point earner at the conference meet since 1995. Walls time of 23.23 in the 200 meters broke the school record of 23.48 by LaQuinta Manahan in 1995. It also broke the track record of 23.23 in 1997 by UTSA's Tameka Roberts. Walls has already qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in both events.
