Mail Services provides UTA's faculty and staff with various services related to the processing of mail. We handle, distribute, and process all mail for the UTA community. This includes United States Postal Service mail for the 76019 zip code and interdepartmental mail for the UTA campus.
Incoming and outgoing mail is processed daily for every department on campus. In addition to regular First Class mail we also handle Registered, Certified, Express and Insured mail. Mail Services also perform non-profit mailings for your department. Your mailing, however, must meet certain USPS guidelines.
Mail Services provides special pickup and delivery when required by a department. We also handle pickups and deliveries for our international carrier.
Mail Services supplies U.S. Postal Service mailing forms, tubs, mail trays, and postal updates to the departments.
Campus mail is distributed within the University without the payment of postage. The mail pieces must relate to official school business and meet certain guidelines, see Mail Service (Procedure 11-2).
Mail Services assigns all departmental box numbers. Postage charges are IDT monthly through OIT. Please contact us for more information.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers significant discounts to large volume mailings and nonprofit organizations. These discounts apply to basically all types of mail and can reduce postage to as little as 19 cents per piece.
By sending your mail through Mail Services, you can be sure that you will receive the lowest postage rate for your piece and the highest delivery percentage.
Qualifying for Discounts
To qualify for presorted mailing discounts, your mailpiece must meet certain guidelines set by the USPS. Generally speaking, your piece must meet size restrictions (length, width, and thickness), weight restrictions, and design/layout restrictions. A helpful tool for designing your mailpiece is the Business Mail 101 portion of the USPS website.
As a nonprofit organization, we are entitled to significant mailing discounts. A nonprofit mailpiece is essentially a standard mailpiece with a permit imprint indicia printed onto each piece.
