Membership
Membership in the Society
is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can
receive in a baccalaureate or doctoral program in business. With the
global expansion of accreditation by AACSB International, membership is
no longer limited to those who have studied in the U.S. or Canada.
Some of the best students
of business from across North America and around the world come together
annually at the
Beta Gamma Sigma Student Leadership Forum.
Students work individually and as teams on a variety of exercises
designed to prepare them for the transition from college to the
professional world.
Membership Requirements
To be eligible for
membership, the academic ranking of those being considered must place
them:
-
In the upper 7 percent
of the junior class
-
upper 10 percent of the
senior class or
-
upper 20 percent of the
graduating master's class (must have completed 18 graduate hours or more at UT Arlington)
-
All
students who have completed PhD program in Business Administration at
UTA are invited to join BGS
Membership
is by invitation only
Candidates
will be invited using the above-mentioned membership requirements,
calculated after the Fall and Spring census dates.
While almost 300,000
students in the U.S. receive baccalaureate or master's degree in
business each year, less then 20,000 earn lifetime membership in Beta
Gamma Sigma.
