Memorial Service to Remember Marketing Faculty Member
Dr. Dan Gossett

March 30, 2011—Dr. Larry Dan Gossett, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at the College of Business, passed away March 28, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. Dr. Gossett joined the marketing department faculty in 2002. He earned his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 1998. Dr. Gossett also holds a B.F.A. and an M.B.A. from UT Arlington. Before joining the Department of Marketing, Dr. Gossett was a visiting assistant professor at the University of California, Riverside and at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, as well as a faculty associate at Arizona State University.

Dr. Gossett's research focused on the cognitive structures associated with disease causation, cognition during viewing of television commercials, the effects of materialism on consumer behavior, and the effects of the environment on perception of quality in service delivery situations.

Dr. Gossett was a popular faculty member and a dedicated supporter of UT Arlington. He was an avid golfer and active supporter of the UT Arlington men’s golf team.

His family and colleagues wish to honor his passion by establishing the Larry Dan Gossett Memorial Golf Scholarship Fund to enable players to further their education while pursuing their athletic interests. Donations should be sent to UT Arlington, PO Box 19198, Arlington, Texas 76019.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home located at 5120 North Ridgeway Drive in Cleburne, Texas. The family invites all friends, colleagues and students to attend.
