It takes a certain boldness to succeed in business, and Nafees Alam has it down to an art. That boldness was perhaps never more apparent than when he left his well-paying job as district manager of Waffle House, Inc., to start his own business, DRG Concepts in 2005. DRG Concepts works with top chefs to create and implement restaurant concepts in the Dallas area. To date, the company has developed and opened five unique restaurant concepts from start to finish. Restaurants like Chop House Burger, Dallas Chop House, Dallas Fish Market, Wild Salsa, and Urban Wok have become fixtures in the Dallas dining experience. DRG restaurants have been recognized and applauded by local and national critics alike, from D Magazine to Bon Appetit. Recognizing that people are the infrastructure of any successful business venture, DRG Concepts has created more than 175 jobs.
