UTA EMBA Application, Requirements, Deadlines

The UT Arlington Executive MBA Dallas-Fort Worth program admits serious candidates who want to further their professional careers. We make the application process as smooth as possible and are available to consult with you via phone or email at your convenience.


The following are requirements for admission to the UT Arlington Executive MBA program. Applicants who submit all application materials and meet the following qualifications will be considered for admission.*

  1. A minimum 5 years of professional work experience
  2. A minimum 4 years of work experience in a management, ownership or leadership position
  3. Commitment to completing a graduate-level 15-month EMBA degree program
  4. Sponsorship by self and/or company
  5. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (does not have to be a business degree) or high-level professional achievement plus GMAT exam

* All EMBA students must be eligible to receive a travel visa to China in order to graduate. In recent years, the Chinese government has made it very difficult for people from certain countries (not U.S. citizens) to obtain their visa.


  • Spring 2019
    • We have opened up admissions for a spring 2019 entrance to start January 3, 2019. Please contact John Laudenslager at 214-263-8987 or laudenslager@uta.edu as soon as possible if interested.
  • Fall 2019
    • Early Application Deadline:  January 16, 2019 - Apply by this deadline to receive a $10,000 early application scholarship!
    • Preferred Application Deadline:  April 24, 2019 - Apply by this deadline to receive a $5,000 preferred deadline scholarship
    • Late applications considered at our discretion after July 24, 2019

  • Evaluate the commitment required by you and your family for this 15-month intense, high-level VIP program.
  • Submit your Executive MBA application.

Applicants must submit all of the following for EMBA acceptance consideration:

  1. Completed application

    Download the fillable PDF application, complete the form, and either email or mail with supporting documents.

  2. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended

    Official transcripts displaying coursework and grades must be received directly from the college or university’s registrar in a sealed envelope. GMAT and GRE scores are not required for applicants with a bachelor’s degree.

  3. Resume
  4. Personal essay

    Why do you want an Executive MBA now, and how will it change your future? What are your expectations of an Executive MBA program? How will the international China immersion experience affect you, your career and your company? (250 words or less)

  5. Recommendations

    Submit three recommendations completed by professional references, not friends or family, on the supplied form. Your references must sign and mail the form directly to the UT Arlington College of Business. Download the evaluation form.

  6. Application fee of $150

    Checks are accepted, and should be made payable to: UT Arlington EMBA Program.

The Executive MBA admissions committee considers the following in addition to the completed application: work experience, recommendations, personal interview, personal essay, academic history and overall application content.
