MBA Flexible Format
The UT Arlington MBA (Flexible format), commonly referred to as just the “MBA” program, is our traditional MBA. Currently, this version of the MBA program is only offered at the main campus in Arlington. The flexible MBA program provides a general management background, but also offers you the opportunity to customize your degree program to meet your unique career, professional and personal goals. Based on your course selections, you may have a general MBA with no specialization–this option is ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs and CEOs. Or, you may through your selection of elective courses, declare a specialization.
The MBA program is 45 hours in length (plus up to 9 hours of deficiency coursework). However, if you have recent, previous academic coursework in business and satisfactory grades, you may be eligible for waivers for deficiency and core courses. These waivers can shorten the MBA program to as few as 36 hours. Please review our Waiver Policy for more specific details about waivers.
To further enrich the learning experience, you must include international courses that focus on multi-national and global business, leadership and management courses related to the implementation of new technologies, and organizational leadership courses designed for complex organizations.
Concentration/Specialty Choices
You may declare a specialty by taking a minimum of 9 hours (beyond core and advance core) requirements in any one of the following subject areas. Accounting requires a minimum of 12 hours beyond (beyond core and advance core) requirements.
