Welcome to Career Counseling

Career selection and planning is a life long process which involves developing self awareness and understanding as well as learning about the realities of the working world. Counselors are available to help students with this process either by appointment or with the counselor-of-the-day on a first-come/first-served basis.

Career Assessments and Career Resources are often recommended to assist students in gaining awareness and understanding of their interests, personality, and values. The Career Resources Library and Career seminars such as the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator can help with this process.

Discover, an internet-based career guidance and information system, is designed to provide students with information about their work-related interests, abilities, and values. This program also provides national and Texas occupational information. Stop by the Counseling Center in Davis Hall, Room 216 to obtain a user ID for this program.
