This three day comprehensive camp, held on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, TX is designed to expose the high school student to the field of sports medicine and athletic training. No previous experience is needed to attend. Students participating in either of the fun and educational tracks will be shown many different aspects available in the field of athletic training. The camp will provide the most up to date information via lectures and participate in hands on labs to practice new skills. At the end of the workshop, the student will return to their high school feeling more confident as an athletic training student.

The annual UTA Volleyball Camp will take place at the Maverick Activities Center. All skill levels are welcome whether you are a beginner beeking your first volleyball experience ot a volleyball fanatic looking to prepare for your upcoming season. We host a variety of camps to meet any volleyball player's needs, from basic skill work to defensive and offensive systems to skills and drills to competitive scrimmage play.

This one-day camp is designed for middle and high school students'ages between 12 and 16, and exposes them to the world of Materials Science and Engineering. The camp will provide an opportunity for the students to learn more about properties of materials including metals, ceramics, polymer and semiconductors. They will learn how materials break by examining fracture surfaces under electron microscopes. They will also learn how nanoparticles of magnetic material are made and characterized. In nutshell, this one day summer camp educate students with mechanical properties, electrical properties, optical properties & magnetic properties along with their characterization and application.

The NSF sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program will host 12 students in summer 2012. Students will participate in team research projects with faculty mentors and graduate students related to hazard issues. The six week training will allow the participants to learn about hands-on engineering research, hazard mitigation, graduate studies and engineering as a career.
RoPro College Challenge Camp

The RoPro College Challenge Camp is a three day camp for high school juniors, seniors and new graduates who want to play with robots and learn about college at the same time. The RoPro College Challenge Camp will not only provide students with a fun robot challenge to work on and compete in at the end of camp but will also cover topics like college financial aid, choosing a university, entrance essays, and how to apply to colleges. By the end of the camp, students will have completed at least one college application to the college of their choice. Challenge yourself and join us for the RoPro College Challenge Camp.

Fitness Adventures 101 is an enrichment camp designed to combine high energy fitness activities with interactive instructional modules that will provide your child with essential knowledge in various areas of exercise science, health, physical fitness, and nutrition. We will teach your child much of what he/she needs to know in order to live a long, healthy, happy and successful life! Whether your child is “Climbing Pike’s Peak”, navigating through our “H2O Obstacle Course” or taking the super FUN “Gladiator Challenge”, your child will have a blast participating in active learning adventures!

The Music Department at the University of Texas at Arlington is proud to present the 11th Annual Texas All-State Choir Summer camp, July 31-August 1, 2012. This camp helps singers to be successful in their journey to the Texas All-State Choir and is a wonderful place to make new friends and experience the fun of learning music. This year's camp features experiences clinicians teaching and assisting students in preparation of the All-State audition and development of sight-reading skills.

A fun and enriching curriculum of full band rehearsals, instrumental lessons, master classes, sectionals, and electives will be taught by outstanding high school and junior high band directors from across the state. Students will participate in one of five bands based on an audition and perform a final Gala Concert. The camp is open to students entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2012. The UT Arlington Summer Music Camps strive to provide each student an opportunity to work and learn from the highest quality instructional staff from around the nation. It is our desire that each student return to their own group having grown musically and personally while at the same time enjoying all the fun and excitement of summer camp life..

This five-day camp is dedicated to strengthen the abilities of beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, while providing a variety of experiences in fundamentals, leadership and performance. Leadership camp is designed to teach students to be effective squad leaders, drill instructors, section leaders or band and color guard officers. Drum Major Camp studies include conducting, marching, teaching fundamentals, drill and music, problem solving and leadership. Colorguard Camp provides instruction in flag, rifle, or sabre as well as training in dance and movement at all skill levels.

The annual Summer Strings program at UTA provides young string players with at least one year of study on a string instrument an opportunity to improve their musical skills, gain a greater depth of musical knowledge, and develop new friendships with students from around the state. The Camp includes an All-State Master class for high school students to work with UTA Music Department Faculty on the TMEA All State Audition Music.
Texas Cello Academy

The Texas Cello Academy and Festival (TCA) is an annual week-long summer celebration focused entirely on the cello and its repertoire. The Texas Cello Academy, Senior (ages 14 – adult), involves daily classes for participants concentrating on cello technique, cello performance, care and maintenance of the cello, and body awareness through Alexander Technique. The Festival includes evening performances: an annual Faculty Recital, a student Chamber Ensemble Recital, a guest recital, and the Final Festival Concert which includes solo performances by the TCA Performance Seminar participants, and the Cello Orchestra comprised of all participating cellists. The camp now fills to capacity, so interested prospective participants are urged to send in applications early! We look forward to working with you in August 2012!

Understanding the sciences is an overview and hands on experience with several different disciplines in the field of biology. The course will expose students to microbiology, molecular biology, anatomy and physiology, and forensic science. Also, students will have the opportunity to visit UT Southwestern Medical School. The course is designed to promote a higher and deeper interest in the sciences at an early age.

The Microbiology Institute will challenge the high school student's mind to think, research, and conduct experiments. This institute is laboratory-based and will involve field work, which will require the students to actually collect samples from different sites on UT Arlington's campus. The students will have one intense week to complete the 5 I's of microbiology. The 5 I's of microbiology are inoculating, incubation, isolation, inspection, and identification.

The Welch Summer Scholar Program (WSSP), sponsored by the Robert A. Welch Foundation of Texas, has been active at UTA for more than 15 years. To date, the WSSP has given more than 1,300 students across the state of Texas unique opportunities to emerge in the field of science engaging them in hands-on, university-level research projects using state-of -the-art equipment and modern technology. Professors, students, and researchers in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry open their laboratories to spend five weeks mentoring these future scientists one on one as they pursue a wide range of chemistry-related research goals.

Upward Bound is a federally funded program founded in 1965 by the U.S. Department of Education. Located at several institutions throughout the country, the Upward Bound Program at UT Arlington has been providing services to area high school students since 1982. Participants are potential first generation college students and several belong to low-income families. Services include: after-school tutoring, academic instruction in core curriculum, TAKS/PSAT/SAT/ACT preparation, college tours, workshops, summer residential programs, and monthly community service opportunities.
