The swimming facility provides the opportunity for lap and recreational swimming. The aquatics facility is located in the Physical Education Building 801 Greek Row.

 

Admittance

One of the following must be presented to enter:
-Current Mav Express ID with Campus Recreation access
-Current Campus Recreation Membership Card
  1. During the Summer (Outdoor Pool only), guest pass holders & children may enter with a current Mav Express ID holder. (Mav Express ID holder must remain with guest and/or child. 2 guests per ID. Guests must be over 18)
  2. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent at all times. (Summer-outdoor pool only)
  3. Children under 10 must have an adult in the water at all times. (Summer-outdoor pool only)
  4. No guest passes or children allowed in the indoor pool.
  5. Spouse of faculty/staff or student need to purchase a spouse card.

(Swimming hours vary during semester breaks and University holidays)


Monday, Wednesday, Friday

12:00 pm-1:20 pm Lap Swim (Indoor Pool)
4:30 pm-7:00 pm Lap Swim
7:00 pm-9:00 pm Lap + Rec Swim (Monday and Wednesday only)

Tuesday, Thursday

4:30 pm-6:00 pm Lap Swim
6:00 pm-9:00 pm Lap + Rec Swim

Saturday

12:00 pm – 4:00 pm Lap + Rec Swim


All times in the summer will be in the outdoor pool only unless otherwise noted.

General Information


For the safety of all participants, the following guidelines should be adhered to:
  • Appropriate swim attire must be worn (no cut-off shorts, t-shirts, underwear or denim shorts)
  • No floatation devices are allowed
  • The lifeguard(s) has/have the authority to terminate any activity deemed unsafe and refuse access or admittance when safety is a concern
  • Aqua belts, fins, kick boards and pull buoys are available.
  • To participate in lap swim, you must be capable of swimming 25 yards (indoor) or 50 meters (outdoor).
  • Children under 10 must have an adult in the water. (Summer-outdoor pool only)

Swimming Policies

For the safety of all patrons, the following guidelines should be followed:

-You must have a swimsuit to enter the water. NO t-shirts, underwear, shorts (military, basketball, etc.)
-No person with sores, open wounds, bandages, or other evidence of infection may use the pool.
-Spitting, spouting of water, profane language, or rowdiness will not be permitted.
-No flotation devices are allowed.
-No food, glass, alcohol or smoking is permitted.
-No coaching, personal training, or teaching will be permitted.
-No running, pushing, diving in shallow end or off the starting blocks.
-1 diver at a time on diving board (Rec Swim times)
-To participate in Lap Swim, you must be able to swim 25 yards (indoor pool), 50 meters (outdoor pool).
-Equipment is available to use during Rec/Lap Swim (pull buoys, kickboards, jog belts & fins).
-Children may use lap lanes and equipment if swimming proficient. (Summer-outdoor pool only)
-No hanging on lanelines.

Lifeguard(s) have the right to terminate any activity deemed unsafe and refuse access or admittance when safety is a concern.

Location

Both pools are located on the south side of the Maverick Activities Center at the Physical Education Building (801 W. Second St).
