The Department of Campus Recreation has something to offer for all. At UT Arlington, Campus Recreation provides recreational and leisure opportunities for students, faculty, and staff through several areas: Informal Recreation, Intramural Sports, Fitness & Wellness, Sport Clubs, Adaptive Recreation, Aquatics, and Spirit Groups.
Our facilities, including the 190,000 sq. ft. Maverick Activities Center, accommodate basketball, table tennis, racquetball, weightlifting, volleyball, badminton, softball, football, soccer and much more.
Canoeing Adventure Trip- A fun interactive trip down the Trinity Main Stem. Spend 2-3 hours paddling down the Trinity Main Stem including the Great Trinity Forest, Miller’s Ferry site, small rapids, White Rock Creek, and Upper Cretaceous limestone .
Saturday, April 19, depart UT Arlington 7:30 a., return to UT Arlington approximately 2 p.m.
Cost: $45 per student/$65 per MAC member (includes an interpretive canoe trip, transportation to and from UT Arlington, water and snacks)
Zombie Survival 101, 4/21, Date: 04.21, 5-8pm in the MAC Upstairs Lounge
This course is designed to get you prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse! This class is designed to get you in shape and give you the skills to be prepared for whatever may come your way.
Topics Covered Include:
-Zombie Survival Fitness: A High-Intensity Workout designed to get your body in top shape to deal with the stresses of running, climbing, and carrying during the Zombie Invasion.
-The Martial Art of Escrima: A rare martial art from the Philippine islands that has been featured in the hit film "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". This martial art focuses on the use of sticks and clubs that can help you survive the Zombie horde.
-Discussion and Presentation of how to build your own Bug Out Bag and Survival Kit.
-Footage of REAL Zombie attacks. (No, we're not kidding.)
