The Department of Campus Recreation offers nutrition consultations that are available to students and members at a reasonable rate. Nutrition consultations include an initial appointment with a registered, licensed dietitian as well as one required follow-up session. Additional sessions are available as needed.
The initial consultation provides the foundation for a tailored eating plan and includes a discussion of the client’s completed nutrition packet, any pertinent medical history, a detailed description of the client’s current nutrition and exercise routines, and a thorough goal setting session. A follow up session is required to hold the client accountable for the new plan and new changes being implemented. This session will reinforce the content provided in the first session and also allow for additional dietary tweaks based on client feedback. The dietitian and client will troubleshoot any obstacles that may have come up and then develop successful strategies for overcoming these obstacles to ensure client adherence and success.
Nutrition counseling is available for the following: weight management, weight/fat loss, weight/muscle gain, sports nutrition, wellness/preventive nutrition, eating disorders/disordered eating, and basic nutrition education.

You should consult a Physician before undergoing any dietary or food supplement changes. Any recommendations you follow for changes in diet, including but not limited to the use of food supplements are entirely your responsibility.

My passion for nutrition started when I was in college. Playing collegiate volleyball made me realize that I could no longer rely solely on skill for performance. I needed an “X” factor and I found nutrition to be that performance booster. Not only was I just able to make it through matches with consistent energy, I was able to concentrate in class, sleep well at night, and recover quickly after difficult workouts. This is when I realized I wanted to assist others in becoming strong and healthy by using food as fuel.
After receiving my B.S. in Dietetics from Ole Miss in 2009, I went to Nashville, TN to obtain my M.S. in Exercise and Nutrition Science from Lipscomb University. I’ve been a Registered Dietitian for almost 4 years now. I’ve worked in a wide variety of settings and supported many different types of clients. I have helped people manage chronic illnesses, build strength and muscle, as well as lose weight. My objective is to help my clients become the best version of themselves nutritionally. Whatever your goal may be, whether it’s weight loss, muscle gain, or simply to stay energized throughout the day, I look forward to helping you reach your full potential.
