The Intimate Realities of Water Screening & Discussion
Guest Speaker: Dean Adrian Parr
Thursday - September 27, 2018
6:00pm - 9:00pm
CAPPA - 204
The Student Planning Association (SPA) and the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) invite you to attend an informative discussion on the realities of water use and a documentary screening of the Intimate Realities of Water. As emerging community leaders, planners, architects, and policy makers, CAPPA students should be informed on the facts about water consumption, conservation, and projected supply.
In the United States, water may appear to be in abundant supply. However, communities from across the globe (and the United States) lack access to safe water for drinking, hygienic needs, and utilities. The reality is that less than 1 percent of water is available for human use, 1 in 9 people lack access to safe water, and1 in 3 people lack access to a toilet.
Guest speakers Dr. Adrian Parr and members from the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) will discuss their work in water sustainability, facts about the current state of water use and quality, and ways citizens can be proactive in conserving our limited water supply.
Come to enjoy an engaging evening of discussion, networking, and free popcorn!
