Preparing for Comprehensive Exams April 2016

Given the large doctoral student body at CAPPA, the CAPPA Ph.D. Consortium in collaboration with the Institute of Urban Studies organized a series of "skills" sessions for the benefit of new and existing Ph.D. students and to enable socialization through shared areas of academic concerns, including attending conferences, faculty and peer collaboration, dissertation writing, and time management.

Zoranna Jones

Zoranna Jones is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the PUAD program. She is focusing her research on what influences African Americans to pursue entrepreneurship in STEM fields. She has completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and communications. She is director of the Academic Resource Center in the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Texas Christian University. During her time at UTA, she has joined Pi Alpha Alpha, maintained academic excellence and presented at two conferences as a graduate student. Her long-term goal is to continue working in higher education.
