Requirements for a Bachelor of Science Degree in EconomicsStudents must have completed ECON 2305 and 2306 before enrolling in certain upper-level economics courses. Specified prerequisites are designated for certain courses. Waiver of either of the above will require consent of the instructor and approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies of the College of Business Administration. English1301, 1302. LiteratureThree hours of English or modern and classical languages literature above the freshman level. Liberal Arts electiveThree hours above the freshman level of literature, or social and cultural studies designated as taught in the College of Liberal Arts, or fine arts, or philosophy, or technical writing. Political Science2311, 2312. History1311, 1312. Mathematics1302, 1315 or 1325, and 1316 or 1426. Natural ScienceEight hours in single lab science (biology, chemistry, geology or physics). Fine ArtsThree hours from architecture, art, dance, music, or theatre arts. Oral CommunicationSPCH 1301 or 2305. Social/Cultural StudiesSix hours. MANA 2302 may be used in partial satisfaction of this requirement. Computer Literacy and StatisticsINSY 2303, STAT 3321. Accounting and FinanceACCT 2301, 2302, and three hours ACCT 3000/4000 level. FINA 3313 or ACCT 3000/4000 level. MajorECON 2305, 2306, 3310, 3312, and 3318, plus 15 additional hours of 3000/4000 level economics, with a minimum of three hours at the 4000 level. Total hours in economics may not exceed 30. Minor18 hours, at least six of which shall be 3000/4000 level. (The six hours in statistics and computer systems and the 12 hours in accounting and finance may be used as a minor in business administration.) Outside electivesSix hours outside the College of Business Administration. Other electivesSufficient to give the total number of hours required for the degree. Total125 hours, at least 39 of which must be 3000/4000 level.
