City of Arlington, Understanding the Planning Process
CIRP 4391 requires students to spend one hour per week outside of class aiding Arlington City Planning officials with tasks related to the city’s preparation of background information for comprehensive planning. Tasks include understanding how Arlington’s housing supply serves the city’s demographic mix, empowering neighborhoods by connecting them with city hall officials and encouraging them to identify community concerns, and identifying local opportunities for re-zoning and development. Students will present the results of their work to the Department of Community Development and Planning at the end of the semester.
