Research Project

·         Assessing Control Strategies of Ground Level Ozone

  • Neelesh conducted his graduate research on “Noise mapping in Central Mumbai (Bombay) wherein the focus of the study was to prepare a Noise Map for the selected area. The noise levels were measured at each sampling point for 8 hrs, and also noise levels were observed at “internal locations” for 1 hour at various locations in the selected area. The obtained noise levels were used for preparing Noise Map. From the Noise Map prepared the areas affected by noise pollution were identified. It was attempted to identify the sources or cause of this problem in the affected areas.
  • As a part of Mini Project, Neelesh also carried out study of Carbon Monoxide (CO) at a busy traffic junction in Mumbai (Bombay). A literature study was done regarding the source, its effect on plants and humans at various concentrations. Also, a 9-day study of CO monitoring at the traffic junction was done for 11 hrs daily (including morning and evening peaks).
