Sustainability: What Does It Mean for Engineers?

This module provides an overview of sustainable engineering concepts, including definitions of sustainable development; environmental, economic, and social impacts (triple bottom line); the importance of engineering in sustainable development; examples of sustainable engineering design; and sustainability indicators/metrics. Module is not discipline-specific, so it can be used for all engineering students.

Sustainability: What Does It Mean for Civil Engineers?

Sustainability: What Does It Mean for Industrial Engineers?

Sustainability: What Does It Mean for Mechanical Engineers?

Modules present case studies of sustainable design relevant to specific disciplines. Homework exercises present unsustainable designs, which the students then critique qualitatively.
