Multi-Disciplinary Sustainable Engineering Design Project

Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Electrical Engineering students at UT Arlington collaborated on a multidisciplinary senior design project focusing on sustainability. The students designed a portable biodiesel production refinery for our campus. The refinery will use waste/used vegetable grease from campus dining halls as feedstock to be transformed into biodiesel fuel. The biodiesel fuel will be used to help fuel the UT Arlington shuttle buses and generators, which typically operate on standard diesel fuel.
