Sustainable Engineers is designed to improve student knowledge of and
competency in addressing sustainability issues in engineering design
and problem solving. Three engineering departments at The University of
Texas at Arlington (UTA) – Civil (CE), Mechanical (ME) and
Industrial(IE) –are collaborating to infuse their undergraduate
curricula with sustainability concepts of varying degrees of complexity
from the freshman through the senior year. Program elementsinclude: 1. 11 SustainableEngineering Learning Modules(available for download), incorporated into 17 undergraduate engineering classes, 2.
