Background:
Dr. Sattler received her Ph.D. in 1996 in environmental engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in air quality. At UT Arlington, she teaches courses and conducts research related to air quality, environmental engineering, and sustainable energy. Her research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Luminant Power, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. She and her students have published over 75 peer-reviewed papers and conference proceedings. Dr. Sattler is an active member of the Air & Waste Management Association and a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
Professional experience:
Prior to joining UT Arlington full-time in 2003, Dr. Sattler spent 5 years in government service and 1 1/2 years in consulting. With the North Central Texas Council of Governments, she assisted in development of the Dallas/Fort Worth air quality State Implementation Plan and regional emissions inventory, among other work. With Alan Plummer Associates, her primary responsibilities were air quality field sampling and dispersion modeling.
