Background:Dr. Choi is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 2007 with a major concentration on Environmental Nanotechnologies for Water and Wastewater Treatment. He worked at the National Risk Management Research Laboratory of US Environmental Protection Agency as a postdoctoral research fellow of Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, where he further developed his research career on the remediation of contaminated groundwater, soil and sediment. His research contributed to the understanding of challenging environmental problems and development of cleanup strategies based on sound science. He has strong research experience, background, and knowledge on synthesis of nanomaterials for environmental applications and characterization and analytical instrumentation for environmental samples. His accomplishment and pursuit in the multidisciplinary work could be found in the list of published research products, which required collaboration with people from chemistry, biology, materials science, chemical engineering, and environmental science and engineering.
