Caleb Hing, Ph.D., a structural engineer with Michael Baker Jr., Inc., of Arlington, Texas, has been awarded the 2010 ASCE Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement. The Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement is awarded to younger members of ASCE who are judged to have attained significant professional achievements by the degree to which they have served the profession and contributed to the public service outside their professional careers. Hing is an adjunct faculty member at UT Arlington's Department of Civil Engineering. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Civil Engineering, a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering- Structural, and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, all from West Virginia University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and certified in NHI Bridge Inspection. He currently serves as an active reviewer for ASCE's Journal of Bridge Engineering and was recently honored by West Virginia University as the Chancellor's Scholar. Hing is also active in ASCE Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), chairing the SEI Local Activities Division's Executive Committee while also serving on the SEI National Technical Program Committee and PR Committee. |
