Dr. Shih-Ho Chao received the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research for a paper co-authored with Drs. Antoine Naaman and Gustavo Parra-Montesinos. This journal paper ("Bond Behavior of Reinforcing Bars in Tensile Strain-Hardening Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites") was published in ACI Structural Journal in the November-December issue in 2009. The Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research is given to the author or authors of a peer-reviewed paper published by ACI that describes a notable achievement in experimental or analytical research that advances the theory or practice of structural engineering and, most importantly, recommends how the research can be applied to design. The Chester Paul Siess Award will be presented to the authors at the ACI Convention in April 2011 in Tampa, FL. The research described in this paper was previously carried out at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was sponsored by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. CMS 0408623. |
