Gerald Musick, CE Alumni, Passes Away

Kenneth Gerald Musick, 74, passed away Jan. 10, 2011, at his home in Benbrook. Gerald was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Granbury and was a 5th generation Hood Countian. He married Barbara Marlow on Jan. 9, 1959. He was preceded in death by parents Levi and Opal Deering Musick. He attended 12 years of school in Granbury where he played on the baseball team graduating in 1954. After attending Tarleton College he received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Gerald retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, Airports Division, where two of his projects were the Granbury Airport and Alliance Airport. After retirement from the FAA he worked for Freese and Nichols Engineering Consultants. He was well respected in the industry for his paving expertise. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; children Kurtis and wife Susiely Musick, Lisa and husband Steve Rich, and Cindy and husband Tommy May; six grandchildren Adrienne and Nicole Musick; Lindsay and husband David Peterson, Wesley Rich, Courtney and Chelsea May; and two great-grandchildren, Camryn Musick and Cade Peterson. He is also survived by a sister, Myrna and husband Jack Wells, niece Terri Wells, nephew Doug Wells and wife Molly; aunts Myrlene Holder and Delphine Counts; and many cousins. Memorial donations may be made to Cook Children's Health Foundation, 801 Seventh Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104 or the charity of your choice. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas, Jan. 14.
